I'm due in 2 weeks and still struggling with boys names!

If we have a girl we think she will be Charlotte Isla.....what do folk think?

And our boys name was going to be Oliver but I think I've gone of this name now.

Ideally we would like boys middle name to be Michael but can't decide on a first name? What do you think of Rory as a possibility?

Other suggestions welcome.....

We like

Milo
Leo
Theo
Reuben
Rufus

If a dd will be called Lottie.

I don't like Rory just because I know one who is a little shit of the highest order (his mothers fault) but taints the name for me.

Bowlersarm · 11/05/2013 10:39

I think both your names are lovely. I like Rory particularly, and it doesn't ever seem too popular, just a smattering across all age groups.

MummyBurrows · 11/05/2013 12:07

I love Charlotte Isla :)

I don't think Oliver flows well with Michael,Rory has a slightly better flow but still doesn't seem "right" to me. It all depends on whether you're bothered about how well the names flow? Some people don't care, some do...

FWIW I like the sound of-
Benjamin Michael
Matthew Michael
Adam Michael
Robert Michael
Thomas Michael
Felix Michael
Alexander Michael

You've probably already vetoed all those for various reasons. I think Michael can be quite a hard name to work with as a middle name if you want a good flow but like I said, flow doesn't bother some people, its a personal choice thing. I love the name Michael but me and dh vetoed it because we know too many and that's some thing we're trying to avoid when naming DC2 lol

I love Rory. I do know two born in the last month though, so it might be becoming more popular (not that it would put me off).

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 11/05/2013 13:07

Charles (nn Charlie) Michael
Toby or Tobias Michael

Rory is a great name.

Like Charlotte Isla too.

Decoy · 11/05/2013 17:20

Charlotte Isla or Rory Michael?

Both great names, no need to look further Smile

Prefer Rory to Oliver by the way.

MrsGazza · 12/05/2013 09:10

Thanks everyone! Glad you all seem to like Charlotte Isla. And no one seems to think Rory is a freakish suggestion!

Think I'm just worried about MIL and her instant reactions!

Can't sleep! One of the many joys of pregnancy!

Just wondering if people think Rory would be
best with James or Michael as a middle name?

Rory James
Rory Michael

Thanks

Rory Michael, definitely!

James is suggested very often as a middle name on these threads. It's a nice name, but Michael would be more unusual.

Rory Michael sounds great! And Charlotte Isla is lovely too. :-)

LittleMissLucy · 13/05/2013 06:02

I struggle with the name Rory, but love the name Michael. Can't it be a first name?

Love charlotte and Rory. Fab names.

My son does shout rooooaaaary the racing car very loud though. Tbo, I don't think you can avoid all pop culture references with any name and the racing car won't crop up as they get older.

GW297 · 13/05/2013 21:44

Charlotte Isla is a beautiful name.

MrsGazza · 13/05/2013 21:44

Ah thanks so much everyone! Think that's us sorted
now for names! How exciting!

I finish work on Friday and then the countdown
is on.....due on 30th may!

Good luck to all of you! (Grin)

Oh no ClattyPatty - I can pronounce it just fine. It was the name of the dopey younger brother of a long-term love interest of mine. I just could never take him seriously, and he's the only Rory I've ever known.

AnathemaDevice · 14/05/2013 16:03

Rory Michael is a great name-so great that I used it for DS2. We've had nothing but positive comments about his name.
