DD has FN and MN from literature from my childhood. Strangely, I had no literary boys names on my list and the name DD has is the only one we had.

Now TTC #2 and Im tempted to follow the theme. Please could you help by suggesting good names from literature (b&g)

Well, it really depends on what kind of books you like - don't see any point in choosing a literary name unless it's a book you love.

When pregnant with dd1 we considered:
Miranda (The Tempest)
Tess
Elinor
Marianne

Laurence/Laurie
Jude

Oh and I loved Posy (Ballet Shoes) but dp was having none of it!

Alice
Daisy
Clover
Hermione

Heathcliff
Byron

Lyra
Arrietty
Simone

What sort of literature? My three DCs have at least one literary name each, some more high brow than others. Including one classical Ancient Greek, two from different kids' books, a Shakespeare character and an Oscar Wilde character.

I love Arrietty Cheese
My DH vetoed Mildred as too witch-y same for Maud and Enid.
If DD1 or DD2 had been a boy they we wanted to use Aesir from Nprse mythology.

SneakyBiscuitEater · 05/05/2013 20:24

*Norse not Nprse

DD is named after Little Women and the girl in Wonderland.

Loving the suggestions on here, jotting them.down.

My DP wanted our DC to be Atticus if it's a boy. I've agreed to it as a middle name, on the condition he reads all the Harry Potter books before its born Wink

DC2 was going to be Digory from The Magician's Nephew, until we realised she was a DD. She is a Dorothy (Sayers although everyone assumes Oz).

Nancy and Daphne were on my list.
