We love Tilly as a name but want our dd to have a 'Sunday' option. We don't like Matilda or Tilda but I came across Otillie. I think that this could work. What do you think of Otillie?

I loathe it.

Such an ugly start and then a girly "illy" stuck on the end.

Like Dough-illy or Fart-illy.

It seems to be popular on here for some reason.

I love it, it was on my list for future girls but DP has vetoed it.

pegster · 23/04/2013 16:00

Very pretty but quite popular here in Bath

AKissIsNotAContract · 23/04/2013 16:01

I would spell it with two Ts though.

exoticfruits · 23/04/2013 16:20

I would have 2 't's and one 'l'.
Ottilie

Love Tilly but Ottillie just too over the top and poshy sounding. Sorry.

LynetteScavo · 23/04/2013 22:12

I think it's very pretty. It passes the pretty but assertive test.

thermalsinapril · 23/04/2013 22:19

Not very keen, but it's better than Matilda.

TenthMuse · 24/04/2013 13:07

I really like it - as Lynette says it's pretty but strong sounding. Think Ottilie is the standard spelling.

KittenofDoom · 24/04/2013 13:09

I quite like it, but as I dislike Tilly that would put me off! Currently I know at least six dogs called Tilly.

FunnysInLaJardin · 24/04/2013 13:10

it's lovely
