Arthur, Joseph or Jacob?

I think we have our final list of 3 boys names (although only 18 weeks so may well change!)

Joseph is a family name on both sides which I like and also like nn Joey.

Arthur we both love and not too popular (I don't think) and like the nn Art.

Jacob may be our favourite but v popular (and the unfortunate Twilight connection)

Any thoughts?

Arthur is my favourite but it is definitely growing in popularity.

Baby Arthurs everywhere at the moment.

Darn, shows what I know about popularity. Tbf I hardly know any children so have no concept of what names are 'trendy' right now :)

Joseph Benjamin - perfect go with it. Failing that Jacob - not Arthur.

mrspinkspanx · 22/04/2013 14:46

I have a Joseph, the only one his primary school.

Bowlersarm · 22/04/2013 14:47

Joseph - great name

Joseph

I know three baby Arthurs. It's nice but it will have a huge leap, then date very quickly I think.

Joseph is classically popular, and will always be nice.

Jacob is also lovely - I don't know any of those, and haven't seen or read Twilight so there's no connection there.

SarahAndFuck · 22/04/2013 16:08

Joseph.

I think there are a lot of Arthurs and Jacobs about at the moment. Not so many Joseph's.

What does your surname start with? If it begins with a C, Arthur Benjamin is to be avoided unless you want to get a lot of ABC themed initials.

afrikat · 22/04/2013 16:10

Joseph seems to be winning so far! Am really liking Joseph Benjamin the more I think about it

Surname begins with a B so I don't think there will be any initial worries either way

I personally prefer the name Jacob from your list but have to admit Joseph Benjamin sounds best and Joseph isn't popular at the moment either which is always a good thing! Jacob and Arthur are both pretty popular right now, thanks to Twilight and the old man/lady names trend that is becoming increasingly popular xx

jellybeans · 22/04/2013 16:13

Jacob

JohnSnowsTie · 22/04/2013 16:18

Joseph

Doodledumdums · 22/04/2013 16:25

Arthur!!! That is my four month olds name. We picked it because we didn't think it was popular, and now I know of 3 Arthurs who've been born since he was. Oh well, I still love it :-)

CPtart · 22/04/2013 16:27

Jacob
Joseph (known as Joseph)

Not keen on Arthur at all

KittenofDoom · 22/04/2013 16:46

Joseph not popular???? It was at no 18 in 2011.

Arthur was at 68, but seems to be on the up so with Jacob at 7, all three are very popular right now.
