so I don't particularly like Toby but it sounds ok with our awkward surname.
I'm on the hunt for other names that sound like this. My favourite is Brody but dh thinks it's just because i fancy Damian Lewis in Homeland. Whether I do or not I still like the name!
Anything else out there and what's the general view on Toby/Brody?

I do sort of think of terrorists when you say Brody. Is Toby short for Tobias - I like that.

Obi is an awesome name.

Jobi?

Tobias is lovely, unfortunately (for me) Toby reminds me of a particularly awful dog my neighbours had. Otherwise it's fine and more classic than Brody etc.

You could look at this list of names which include options like Anthony (Tony), Cody, Geoffrey etc.

For me Toby is a dog, and Brody makes me think of Bodie and Doyle. Not sure that many people would make that connection any more though :)

SavoyCabbage · 21/04/2013 05:58

Jacoby.

To me, Brody/Brodie is a unisex name, so maybe you'd consider Jody?

Christelle2207 · 21/04/2013 09:26

Thanks all. I like Jody and Cody but dh doesn't!
