A guy I used to work with has announced his baby DD's name on Facebook. Welcome to the world, little Strawberry... Shock

not so unusual, nowadays, I think...

Well, who decided that Cherry, Olive and Clementine were legitimate names but not Strawberry, Mango or Nectarine? (likewise - Ruby, Pearl and Amber but not Diamond or Sapphire.)

It may yet turn out to be a pet name - like 'Bean', 'Peanut' or 'Currant' used for foetuses and babies before names have been decided.

Strawberry?! He's got to be kidding surely?! Then again Gweneth Paltrow and Chris Martin did call their dd Apple...

Actually diamond and sapphire were popular in the early 1900's up til the end of the 20's.
Personally I'd rather banana than strawberry especially with ice cream Grin.
