My favourite by miles out of those is Thomas James, followed by Henry. Not keen on Hugo and I know too many babies called Max and Oliver alteady, both seem to be really popular at the moment.

DrMcDreamysWife · 15/04/2013 16:23

I like all of them!! They have a nice ring and are all strong boys names

My favourite is Hugo James, my least favourite Max James. But I also love Henry James. Henry was on my list but our surname starts with an H so would have been silly!!

Hope your bubba comes soon so you get newborn snuggles near your birthday!!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/04/2013 17:01

Don't like Henry James for obvious reasons. Oliver James is my favourite, followed by Max.

emalushka · 15/04/2013 17:03

Love them all - but not Hugo, sorry.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 15/04/2013 17:35

They all sound great with James, my favourite of all of these today is Oliver.

Have you practised shortened or diminutive versions? I actually prefer Tom or Tommy to Ollie. Hmm, tricky!

Hope you're having a happy birthday!

Barbie1 · 15/04/2013 17:37

I have a Henry James Smile

Love Hugo but it doesn't go with our surname.

Good luck for nex few days!

toobreathless · 15/04/2013 17:46

LOVE:
Henry James
Hugo James - my personal favourite.
Thomas James.

Max James: just feels 'unfinished to me' I prefer a longer version of Max followed by James.

Oliver James: just too popular for me, but a good, solid name.

Good Luck, DD2 was born on April 6th :)

fussychica · 15/04/2013 18:00

Nice selection - Oliver James my personal favourite. Whichever goes best with your surname. Good luck and let us know.

Still18atheart · 15/04/2013 19:30

Like them all. Especially Hugo and Oliver

Astley · 15/04/2013 20:27

Max or Hugo for me. Henry is super popular everywhere now so I wouldn't have that. Also Henry James would be a no no for me.

CheerfulYank · 15/04/2013 20:32

Hugo! I love it.

williaminajetfighter · 15/04/2013 20:39

Oliver James is the name of an estate agent in Oxford. Go for Hugo... The most unique of the bunch.

CurryChip · 15/04/2013 20:45

Love love love Henry James

Dadmaq · 15/04/2013 22:34

What are the "obvious reasons" for not liking Henry James? Have I missed an obvious blooper? Is he a mass murderer or something?

Exhaustipated · 15/04/2013 22:44

Henry James - novelist.

I like Hugo James best

KittenOfDoom · 15/04/2013 23:08

Haven't we had this before?

My favourite is still Hugo James, easily.

MummyBurrows · 15/04/2013 23:10

I like Henry James :) xx

Dadmaq · 16/04/2013 17:55

I'm swaying heavily to Henry.

Although it can't really be shortened (unless he has the same name as a farmyard animal) I like it.

Is Henzy a good nn? Can imagine his mates calling him henz.
Or am I being daft?

OP posts:
Astley · 16/04/2013 18:51

Haha not when he's over 2 I don't imagine!

williaminajetfighter · 16/04/2013 19:02

A good nickname for Henry is Hank! Love it!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/04/2013 19:09

Cut to the chase and call him Heinz!

Hal could be a good nn for a Henry. Only because of Henry VIII "bluff king Hal".

itsnothingoriginal · 17/04/2013 12:22

Hugo James - good name!

The others are all a bit over popular for me - the rest of the list reads like the register for most of the classes at our local school!! That may not be an issue for you though.

DottyboutDots · 17/04/2013 12:58

We have a Hugo James and know another, ours were born 3 years ago than yours though. It was a name that i never thought would become popular and would always be quite singular. We were wrong! Still love it very much. A strong name. If we have another boy I've put Gregory on the list as I love the 'guh' sound now.
