We're really struggling for girls names which we both like.

DH has just suggested Hester or Hesper and I quite like them both but wonder if they are too unusual.

What do you think?

Middle name would be Laura.

Hester great, Hesper makes me think of the wreck of the Hesperus. Not a good thing.

Hester. Never heard of hesper and I don't like it. The most famous female Georgian silversmith was called Hester Smile

Hester is a girls' name Confused
Hesper as in Hesperus?

fussychica · 09/04/2013 18:28

Esther - similar but definitely feminine.

freerangeeggs · 09/04/2013 19:32

I love love love Hesper, but people always hate names they're not familiar with and it is extremely unusual.

It makes me think of the Hesperides and the evening star.

Unfortunately is it an anagram of herpes.

Dislike sorry.

Honor, Ester, Elspeth, Stella, and Hermionie is much nicer
