What do you think if this name? I haven't heard if any other vinnies. Was thinking if putting Vincent on birth cert so when older found use vin or vince or perhaps even Vincent! Would love your opinions. Thanks

I know a Vinnie (aged 5) and he's just about the coolest kid I've ever met. He's Vincent on his birth certificate. I love it!

My first thought: Sopranos vibe, bit edgy, what a refreshing change from all the Jacks and Charlies (great as they are).

Short for Vincent, very smart.

I know one Vincent, aged about 3, I think it's a very cool name. Go for it!

I really like it, Vinnie can be both cute for a little boy and cool for a teen/adult.

I have a friend with a son named Vincent (nicknamed Vinnie). I like it. Smile

We loved Vincent, vince, vinnie but chickened out at the last minute and now really regret it. Ds now has rather boring normal name and I think he'd have really suited vinnie. If there is ever a ds2 he'll be Vincent.

I know a little vinnie, he is cute! So I like it!

its a fabulous name (and not just because its my nickname Wink)

I considered Vincent nn Vin but DH said no. It does make me think of Home and Away though Grin

The baby in the flat above me is Vinnie. At first all I could think of was Vinnie Jones. But he is super cute and it really suits him. As far as I'm aware he's just Vinnie, not Vincent or vince, but I like both Smile

I also know a female Vini (Lavinia) and she's lovely too!

HappyDogRedDogToss · 08/04/2013 11:48

I know of 3 (and a Vincenzo). One Vin, one Vinnie, one never to be shortened Vincent.

I know of 2 babies in the last 6 months called Vinnie. It will become very popular.

Irvine is a family name for us - am considering it for DC2 if it's a boy. Interesting thoughts re Vinnie.
