I just recently figured out how to pronounce this name properly and love how it sounds. Wdyt.....oh and it's pronounced Jah Ko bee!

Pronunciation is so important with names, my little girl is IsObel drives me to distraction when people call her IsAbel, ypu think you'll only have to correct people once but it isn't it is constant.

I actually can't hear any difference between Isobel and Isabel. I have never heard anyone pronounce either version in any other way than Iz-uh-bel. (The middle bit being the sound usually represented by an upside-down e)

As for Jacoby, I would say it like the first three syllables of Jacobean. I do see it as a surname though.

Proper old name, the original way James was rendered in the Bible but I think you will get a lot of mispronunciations

Isobel, Isabel, Isabelle - all the same to me

I've just been saying Isobel, Isabelle over and over agin to myself and I just can't hear the difference!
Not too keen on Jacoby though definitely heard worse.
