Martha or Phoebe

Which do you prefer? Middle name will probably be Elizabeth. DS is Isaac.

Phoebe is the winner for me.

Gorgeous names. Equally lovely. But I would choose Martha as DD has 4 little friends called Phoebe and I only know one Martha (in her teens).

Both are lovely! Phoebe is prettier to me, and maybe easier for nicknames.

I think Phoebe works better with Isaac, as Willow says, but Martha works better with Elizabeth. Although I think Martha goes with Isaac more than Phoebe goes with Elizabeth. Both nice names though.

Prefer Martha but Phoebe is also lovely. Opposite to another poster - I know 4 Martha's (3 of them under 3yrs) and only one Phoebe.

Both my all time favourite girls names but for me Pheobe just pips Martha as ive loved the name since I can remember and seems a prettier sounding name, however my dp loves Martha more! Decisions, decisions.....

Martha is my favourite of the two, it's really lovely. Phoebe is nice but I instantly think of Lisa Kudrow in Friends, thousands probably don't though!

Both nice, but Phoebe is nicer. I knwo lots of Marthas. Iwonder if Friends holds people back from choosing Phoebe

Both lovely. I really love Phoebe, but think Martha goes better with Elizabeth (another great name) as you don't have the repetition of the 'be' sound. Not that you often say the full name but there you go.
