Shortish shortlist

I'm expecting DC2 in June, a brother for my DD. I like quirky but not too quirky names and whilst i had a great name picked out for another girl, I'm finding boys names a bit trying! Which so you think would be best from these or can anyone suggest others? I'd like a name that goes well with DDs name which is Eliza. The middle name will be James

The short list so far-

Samuel
Arthur
Laurence
Rory
Toby

Thanks !

Laurence ,then Rory. The other names are fine but I wouldn't really say they are quirky at all.

Willow36 · 02/04/2013 16:00

My order of preference would be

Samuel
Toby
Rory
Laurence
Arthur

Other names that I think go with Eliza are
Reuben
Henry
Andrew
Gabriel

Love all your names (except Toby). Unless it's Tobias - which for some reason i like more.
Esp like Rory and Samuel.

MortifiedAdams · 02/04/2013 16:01

Samuel
Like Laurence too.

Also, Max, Finn, Henry

MumOfTheMoos · 02/04/2013 16:02

Laurence and then Samuel.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 02/04/2013 17:57

I'd go for Laurence or Rory.

Samson instead of Samuel?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/04/2013 18:00

Laurence by a mile. Don't like Rory or Arthur much, sorry.

itsnothingoriginal · 02/04/2013 18:46

Laurence is my fave!

Goes really well with Eliza too (also a lovely name btw)

baskingseals · 02/04/2013 18:56

i like Laurence.

what about

Joel

Otto

DessieLou · 02/04/2013 19:08

Laurence! How about Jonah, Phoebus, Otis, Flynn?

fussychica · 02/04/2013 19:22

Sorry Laurence isn't for me - like Samuel best from your list.

CheshireDing · 02/04/2013 20:13

I don't like Laurence at all, sorry.

Samuel isn't quirky though.

Toby and Eliza and Toby James sound nice

OkayHazel · 02/04/2013 20:45

Laurence is at the top of my list by a mile. Love Lori/Laurie for a boy.

soontobeslendergirl · 03/04/2013 00:53

My favourite from you list would be Rory, but I don't find them hat quirky.

Other suggestions:
Sebastian
Miles
Guy
Crispin
Joss
Rufus
Piers
Hugh

sjupes · 03/04/2013 01:00

Samuel is brilliant.

Toby is a nickname for a penis whrre i'm from.

Lionsntigersnbears · 03/04/2013 08:11

Thanks all! Lots of things to argue over- discuss with DH and some new ones too. I love Henry and Guy too but I expect DH won't. Boys names are harder than girls I think!

According to the MN collective it's only round where i live - the rest of britain via MN see it as a perfectly normal name :)
