Do you know one, have one? what do they get called? Any ideas? My dd's name doesn't get shortened as I thought it would, so I know it isn't essential, but I think that this name would benefit from one.

Girl at uni was called Sissy and I assumed her name was Cecelia but it turned out she was called Astrid.

Nothing appropriate jumps out, but NNs don't have to be related to the name at all (my boys' aren't!). I'd try for Star.

JollyGolightly · 27/03/2013 13:29

I know one who goes by Atty.

Azz? Ace? Trudy?

TenthMuse · 27/03/2013 16:07

The one I know answers to Asti. Lovely name.

Frettchen · 27/03/2013 16:39

I'd go for Astra or Star as NNs

I know of someone with an Astrid who shortens it to Asti.

Ah sorry my dd isn't called Astrid, but another 2 syllable name. Her name could be easily shortened but rarely is so I was considering if nicknames are essential. Astrid is one I'm considering for dc 2, but I think it would benefit from a softer nickname. Some of the suggestions are what I was after, thanks :)
