Why is Samuel popular but Lemuel not?

Lem, Lemmy, Lemuel, I kinda like it!

And why the ARSE do I seem to love biblical names when I am a staunch atheist?!

Lemuel doesnt flow well. Samuel runs off of the tongue nicely.

The lesser used Biblical names would make me assume the parents were religious.

But Lemmy just shrieks Motorhead

ChompieMum · 26/03/2013 22:02

Reminds me of lemmings.

I don't know what is it about biblical names that I like so much! Seth, Amos, Lemuel oh and Noah years and years ago when it wasn't super duper popular! I guess they are unusual but have a bit of history, any similar non-biblical suggestions??

Not keen at all. Sorry

Love it! But I love gulliver's travels and it was his first name :) wasn't brave enough to use it. Let dh go for his weird and wonderful second names for ds's instead.

williaminajetfighter · 28/03/2013 04:52

Reminds me of Limahl. If you grew up in the 80s youll know who?

ripsishere · 28/03/2013 04:59

Not keen. I am a super atheist, but loved the name Theo(core) which means, IIRC God given.
Luckily we had a DD.
