Newly pregnant Grin DH is not yet taking the naming thing seriously (fair enough, it?s early days!) but I?m a bit bloomin? excited by it all! We, obviously, cannot agree. My list of names are fabulous, he likes none of them. Bah.

So I?m after some more suggestions please.

Names I like:

Girls

Abigail
Emilia
Giselle
Charlotte
Darcey (DH hates this, I?m not prepared to give up on it yet.)
Hayley
Imogen
Isobel
Jemima
Lucille
Megan
Meredith
Ophelia
Rochelle
Scarlett
Samantha
Naomi

Boys

Benjamin
Alistair
Christian
Cameron
Daniel
Dominic
Ethan
Harry
Isaac
James
Joshua
Jonathan
Jake
Luke
Matthew
Nathaniel
Oliver
Rhys
Ryan
Tristan
William

Any names from my list you love? Any you loathe? Any other suggestions?

A number of your girl's names are the same as my faves...I have 2 DDs.

I will add...Tabitha, Violet.

I LOVE Tristan...I was thinking about that name earlier today. Also Christian.

DebK2012 · 25/03/2013 16:17

Nina, Lucia, Marisa

Willow36 · 26/03/2013 08:36

Love Tabitha, not sure on Violet. I can't think of any nns I like for Violet.

Tristan is so far my front runner for a boy. I love it!

Lucia - definitely going on the list. Nina and Marisa have been vetoed by DH. (I shall sneakly add Marisa though!)

Thanks both Smile

Marisa is very pretty. Lovely in fact...I've never thought about that one! Tabitha is great imo because Tabby is also cute....I wanted it for DD2 but DH said no way. Sad I also love Primrose.

BassDownLow · 26/03/2013 09:46

LOVE Lucille and Giselle. Underused, but not weird, and pretty without being too sickly sweet. Gorgeous.

The only girls names I dislike on your list are Hayley (too 80s) and Rochelle (stripper name).

I love Nathaniel and Dominic from your boys list and also really like the classic and biblical names - Benjamin, Isaac, Joshua - although these arenviously more popular.

BlueChampagne · 26/03/2013 13:41

LOVE Alastair and Meredith

Will add:
Vashti, Rhiannon, Corinna, Tamsin
Conrad, Bryn, Marcus, Ambrose

beckslovestimmy · 26/03/2013 13:51

Girls:

LOVE & would use: Abigail, Emilia, Charlotte, Imogen, Jemima, Meredith.
Wouldn't use:
Giselle- makes me think of a deer
Isobel- pretty but popular and trendy.
Scarlett- trendy and makes me think of a stripper.
Rochelle- just don't like sorry
Darcey: agree with your DH, dare I say it quite 'chavvy' around here.

BOYS:
All classic and lovely names tbh.
LOVE: Dominic, Isaac, James, Nathaniel (nn Nate?), Ryan.
Not as keen on:
Oliver- too popular
Jake/Joshua- just don't like.
Ethan- really don't like, tends to be over used and & bit chavvy around here.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 26/03/2013 23:33

Of your girls' names list OP I like best

Giselle, Jemima, Lucille, Imogen, Naomi and Ophelia in that order.

Love Tabitha and Marisa. Ooh Rhiannon and Tamsin nominated too!

From your boys' names, top for me would be Harry, Matthew, Oliver and Rhys.

Tristan, dreamy but he'd better be able to take care of himself.

And offer Alexander (Alex or Xander) as a suggestion.
