KikkiK I was considering Eleanor, but know of an Ellie that I wouldn't want to name DC 'after'. Can't ask what Ellie is short for, but presumed Eleanor as I couldn't think of anything else. I think Eleanor will have to go on the 'no' list.

I have taught quite a few that are just Ellie/Elly; not short for anything.

Littlemissexpecting · 25/03/2013 22:25

Eloise (i love) or Elle (ellie not short for but still works).

RiaOverTheRainbow · 25/03/2013 22:30

IME most Ellies are Elizabeth.

My DD is called Ellie as a nickname, her name is Emily but DS couldn't say it when he was younger and its sort of stuck!
