Felix or Wilfred?

Thoughts please! Really torn between the 2 for our boys name!

I really like them both. Wilfred probably has more nickname opportunities; Wilf, Fred, Wil, Freddie.

One is a cat, the other an old man.

Wilfred for me, no good reason just a personal preference! Plus I think Wilf is a most excellent nickname!

Wilfred because I love the nn Wilf. I also really like Felix though.

Wilfred with Fred as nn.
I don't like Felix at all, sorry.

I have a Wilf. He's a dude and we get loads of compliments about his name.

Wilf/Wilfred is too fashionable at the mo and reminds me of a wartime baby in a knitted bonnet straight out of Call The Midwife.

Felix however is dynamic and fascinating and strong.

Love them both. Is there one that goes better with your surname and/or preferred middle name? Or makes better initials? Wilfred might be hard to say if little one turns out to be someone who has trouble pronouncing "r". I know unlikely but it happens, and put me off Rory for mine!

Also, have you considered Wilbur? I love this too.

I like Felix, but I LOVE Wilfred. You could consider spelling Wilfrid too, just to throw it out there!

Felix is very popular where we are. It would put me off.

Felix is far more popular than Wilfred. I love Wilf, though I am slightly biased, ours is adorable and we have yet to meet another in RL.

Yes, I suppose you shouldn't criticise others' name choices - but why Felix or Wilfred when there are so many nice names out there??

Wilfred is a truly excellent name - is in our top 3! Less prevalent too, at least round our way. I do like Felix as well though. Good choices

Felix is lovely but Wilfred is probably a bit more adventurous and therefore less popular (if you are bothered about that) and it does have cool nn's.
