Dylan?

They are only names we both agree on.

Would people snigger?

Well......

LeslieWink1e · 18/03/2013 20:45

What about Daryl

upholsterer · 18/03/2013 20:54

Hadn't thought of Daryl though it really wouldn't work with our surname.

I would certainly smile but I would never snigger...

We contemplated naming our DC Willy Nelson Mandela monster.
That would get sniggers.

MortifiedAdams · 18/03/2013 21:39

«misses point» thoms dylan.....why not?

hanahsaunt · 18/03/2013 21:46

Given that I wanted to call ds2 John Thomas without the faintest idea that this was the most ridiculous idea in the world ... anything goes!

I should add that he's actually Thomas Alexander.

hanahsaunt · 18/03/2013 21:47

Blush. He's not. He's Thomas Stuart. Alexander is ds3's middle name. Oops.

TheWoollybacksWife · 18/03/2013 21:56

Thomas Dylan is nice. I can honestly say that my children very rarely have to use their middle names.

I like raisah names and add Thomas Andrew and Thomas Anthony.

I may add more as I work my way through the alphabet... Smile

wigwaminamustardmill · 18/03/2013 21:58

I think Thomas Dylan is lovely, my Thomas is Thomas Jacob.

SneezySnatcher · 18/03/2013 22:22

I think it's fine. I doubt many people would realise!

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 18/03/2013 22:24

I don't realise. Is there a joke somewhere or something?

RemoteControlledChaos · 18/03/2013 22:25

I still haven't realised... so I would say you're safe

FunnysInLaJardin · 18/03/2013 22:27

it's fine. Most folk as demonstrated above^^ have never heard of Dylan Thomas. More shame them Grin

Skyebluesapphire · 18/03/2013 22:27

I know a "John Thomas" and he has had to go through life with people laughing at it.

Thomas Dylan would be a bit odd, but its your baby and your choice :)

Just be prepared for jokes and silly comments

upholsterer · 19/03/2013 19:37

Thanks very much for all your replies. I think we might go back to the drawing board with this one. However, I did notice that it was Wilfred Owen's birthday yesterday, and in keeping with the poet theme we now have Owen to consider. I also like Edward from raisah's list, so our list is growing a little Smile

Dylan Thomas might be a bit iffy, but I don't see anything wrong with Thomas Dylan. I would think most people would associate the name Dylan with Bob Dylan anyway.

LadyWishfort · 19/03/2013 20:02

My nephew is Thomas Benjamin. I like Thomas Dylan, but then I'm a fan and see it as a subtle nod to a literary hero. Shortened ...Tom Dylan does make me think of Bob Dylan though....a completely different issue, probably my strange mind!

LadyWishfort · 19/03/2013 20:04

Whoops! Cross-posted.

mathanxiety · 20/03/2013 02:32

I know a little Thomas David

Theas18 · 20/03/2013 11:33

Isn't Thomas's middle name "the-tank-engine" ?
