Myself and DP can't agree on a baby name at all. He just shrugs his shoulders and says he doesn't know what to call DD2 when she is born. I have loads of names chosen but, surprise surprise, he doesnt like any of them. Has anyone else had this issue? At the moment i'm going to leave the subject until i'm in labour and in complete pain. That way, i can blackmail him into letting me choose the name and he has to agree with me. Is that quite harsh? Surely after seeing me go through what im about to go through he will feel sorry for me and give me whatever i want? Or does it not work like that?

DD1 is not his, her father passed away before she was born so i only had my mum with me and nobody to really discuss the pregnancy/bringing child up with apart from my family who all left me to make the decisions.

Good god yes! This is our surprise baby and neither of us were very pleased about it tbph but we're coming round to it everytime i bring up names he reminds me we don't know what we're having, plenty of time to choose, poibt blank no Angry

It does my head in so i'm waiting till we find out the sex then hassling him till i get an answer - i hate girls names completely so if it's a DD2 the discussions will never end :(

I was hoping for a DS but im actually really happy im having a DD now. He was really wanting a DS but again he is coming round to the idea of a daughter. He is a great step dad to my first daughter but he seems completely disinterested in the pregnancy. I think it might just be a man thing and he would rather kick himself in the balls than discuss his feelings or anything like that so i'm probably just being over sensitive.

I suppose he will just have to deal with whatever name i pick then lol

DP has shown this one particular bit of interest repeatedly - ''when do you want to buy the pram?'' This is it Hmm at least it's sonething tho :) he loves squishy newborns and he's a fab dad i'm sure you'll be fine too :)

Well, if he doesn't offer any names, you get to choose!

Think of some names you like, then when the baby is born, see what he lies, and you think fits.

Maybe he is a bit scared and wants to be reassured but won't admit it. So for now while the EDD is a long way off, he can put off something like choosing names because it seems miles off.

Meanwhile you can revel in baby name books and come on MN and debate Smile
