We are expecting DC3 at the end of April. Asked DD (5) and DS (3) for names suggestion. Here they are:

Girl:
-onas
-sonalosa
-lilly
-holly
-millie
-sashi

Boys:
-tom
-crampol
-ben

To be honest, they are better than what DH or I can think of Grin.

If it weren't for the pig, i would quite like Peppa.
Can anyone else ask their DC? There is likely to be a jewel amongst their suggestions!

I have a similar list that DD wrote when she was 2. It included such classics as;

fishfinger
boobah
boobie
umbrella
lala
and
Aubrey

bangersmashandbeans · 10/03/2013 13:31

I had a baby boy 4 weeks ago and my DD (3) hasn't stopped saying 'but I wanted a sister called Louisa' Quite nice I think! (But not quite right for her brother)

pixi2 · 10/03/2013 13:32

Ds suggested Jesus, Easter, Charlie or George (his bfriends at nursery).
For girls he likes Katie, Georgi, Elise (girl bfriends at nursery).

Dd has suggested boo and light.

jkklpu · 10/03/2013 22:52

I have friends who asked their 3yo dd1 to give them 2 options for dd2: she ended up being Anastasia as the other option was Cinderella Grin

WinkyWankyWonkyPeppa · 10/03/2013 23:00

My son loves George or Mummy (I doubt Mummy will make it onto your list though! at least I know he loves me enough to name a child after me!

VBisme · 10/03/2013 23:05

Why aren't more children called "mummy" or "daddy"

Those of us who are aspirational could use "maman" and "papa"

When I was pregnant with dd2, I asked the older ones what they wanted and ds's answer was Robin. Why? Because he already has a hamster called Batman. At least it was a unisex name I suppose, but we didn't end up calling her that :o

Bibblebobbleparsnip · 10/03/2013 23:19

My DD1 suggestion for her new sibling (DS) was Cornflake. When we were expecting DD2, DS suggested Noise. We didn't take either of them up....

Raeray · 10/03/2013 23:31

A friends little girl suggested sardine for her new baby brother- I think it has good unisex potential myself!

Ham69 · 10/03/2013 23:34

I've grown quite attached to DD (3.8)'s imaginary daughters' names. She's had them for almost a year and talks to them daily. Their names are;
Sazia
Ducty
Acreamier (my personal favourite!)
Asairdia
I have no idea what inspired her but they're a big part of our lives now!!

showtunesgirl · 10/03/2013 23:44

I quite like Sashi! Blush

MortifiedAdams · 10/03/2013 23:47

Hahaha some good ones in there.

Dd is only 14mo so if I asked her to name something itd be 'horse' or 'toast'.

FriggFRIGGisPoorlySick · 11/03/2013 15:03

I asked DS (2.6 yrs)
He says 'DoodDootds' this actually translates as octonauts.

I'm probably not going to consult him on this matter again....

2kidsintow · 11/03/2013 20:27

DD1 wanted her sister to be called Jessica, because she had a friend of that name.

(We did go for that in the end, but I sometimes wish I hadn't as there are 4 Jessicas in her class alone, and 6 in her year group - though she finds that funny herself!)

I did ask her what she'd want if it wasn't the sister she was hoping for. Her answer: Quincy. (After afternoons of watching Quincy ME with her Dad I think!)

I asked my dc to name your child
DD (9) suggests Eliza Rose
(refusing to believe you could have the misfortune of having a boy)
DS (8) suggests Ralph (I think from a recent movie)
DS (5) suggests Mr V (his favourite teacher at school)

BadRoly · 11/03/2013 20:42

Dd2 was named by dd1 Blush but she wouldn't have been if she was ds2 Wink

MERLYPUSS · 11/03/2013 20:45

Ultimungusaur or Jamie-Amy

pettyprudence · 11/03/2013 20:50

I got to name my dsis when I was 7 Grin My dm was convinced she would be a boy and so hadn't thought of any girls names. She is called Rosie (after my teddy bear) Branwen (after welsh mabinogion princess)
I probably just outed myself there Grin

When my dbro was born, again my mum got mixed up with the genders and so didn't have a boys name.... she didn't accept my name of Bendigeidfran Hmm

Dysgu · 11/03/2013 21:05

DD2 (aged 4) thinks that DC3 (due end of April) should be called:
Molly or Jessica
Harry or Jack

She has stuck with these suggestions since we told her about DC3.

DD1 (aged 6) occasionally suggests a name - usually something she hears on TV or reads in a book, but the most outstanding one (and I have no idea where it comes from) is:

Pixie April (which she feels could work for a boy or a girl!)
