Sister for Elodie?

Completely stuck trying to think of a name for DD2. Love Elodie because it's quite unusual but can easily be shortened to something familiar, but DH & I can't agree on another name! We kind of like Astrid, Lorelei & Lyra but think they might all be a bit TOO unusual... Also really like Freya, but think that might be too common now (I know, I'm fussy!). V grateful for any bright ideas!

Lola? I love the name Elodie too!

Elodie is lovely; Cecilia, Ingrid/Ingrida, Rosalie, Genevieve (shortens to Jenny or Eve), Lucille, Merryn?

Elodie is so pretty! How about the following...

Keira
Jasmine
Hannah
Beatrice
Delphine(Delphi)
Cara

DessieLou · 10/03/2013 02:06

Meant to say, love Lorelei & Lyra!

anonymosity · 10/03/2013 02:27

Love Elodie
I knew a family with 3 girls and Elodie was the 2nd. I remember one of the other girls was Clementine but I forget the 3rd...

I like the suggestions Genevive, lucille and Merryn

Ooh, thanks everyone, some good ones here ! Had already been toying with Lola and Cara (but used to teach a horrible Cara!). Like Genevieve and Violet too, and Adela (how would you pronounce that, though?).

Britchic · 10/03/2013 13:25

I was at school with sisters Elody and Emmeline..... I thought they were such gorgeous names back then, and still do!

HazleNutt · 10/03/2013 14:53

Louisa

I have an Ivy and an Elodie. I didn't want my girls to be "themed" as I think that's a bit twee, but wanted them both to have interesting names.

brownrabbit · 10/03/2013 15:07

Love Emmeline, but think it might sound too similar. Can imagine endless confusion shouting up the stairs for one or the other!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 10/03/2013 16:09

Amelie
Catalina
Emilie
Justine
Ottilie
Lorelie came to my mind when I saw your thread title Smile

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 10/03/2013 16:10

Or even Lorelei!

badtime · 10/03/2013 16:13

Adela is pronounced like 'Della' with an 'A' before it (the 'e' sound is quite flat, also rhymes with Bella, doesn't sound like the one in 'Adele').

I really like this name - it sounds very glamourous and 1920s to me.

Coffee1Sugar · 10/03/2013 18:40

Eliza
Lydia
Thalia
Annalise
Bethany
Imogen

brownrabbit · 11/03/2013 15:58

Considered Eliza for no.1, but changed mind when I read the (depressing) lyrics of the Nick Cave song! Love Imogen but can't use it for family reasons. So shortlist so far is...

Lola
Genevieve
Violet
Adela
Keeping Lorelei on there
And just found Ariana on another thread - like that one too!
