Hi everyone,
i may be getting a bit ahead of myself- currently in 2nd trimester and know we are having a second boy.

have one DS called Zach (Zacharias).

my family is greek and husbands surname (which i have now too) is the most british of all british names!).

so we want a first name with a nod to the greek but not too odd.

so was thinking of perhaps Leonidas- known as Leo, but perhaps spell it as it actually sounds in Greek so Leonithas as i think pronunciation might be an issue for people if we spell it Leonidas.

hit me with it then! bad or good? any other ideas in a similar vein?

thanks

I love Leonidas/Leonithas! Other ideas, Bastian, Eli,Cyrus, Christos, Theodore, Titus.

ooh thanks Mummypig, thought people might think it strange!

you dont think the "TH" spelling is too odd?

you are on my wavelength as DS1s middle name is theo :)

also like Christos actually- will float that one with DH

Yes I like Christos, there is the option of shortening it too. If you spell it Leonidas, then people will say it like that, unless they know that is is supposed to be pronounced Leonithas, so may as well spell it the way it is meant to be said to save confusion!

Leonithas with Leo for short is lovely :-)

Love Eli & Leonidas (prefer that spelling, otherwise it would probably look odd in either language). Also like Thaddeus.

Leonidas will get shorten to Leo which is very popular now so if you have a common surname will be very common. Zach not as common.
