Wren as a name for a girl?

I like it Smile

deemented · 03/03/2013 19:41

Beautiful Smile

MN044 · 03/03/2013 19:43

No. Sounds lovely and delicate but imagine that name on a big clumsy child or a 6 foot tall middle aged lady. Not what you want to think about when naming your precious baby I know, but I think it'd be a hell of a name to carry off if you're anything less than a delicate wee thing

meditrina · 03/03/2013 19:44

Still makes me think immediately of the Royal Navy.

CognitiveOverload · 03/03/2013 19:49

I like it

FriggFRIGGisPoorlySick · 03/03/2013 19:50

I like it.

jumblequeen · 03/03/2013 19:59

It's on my list!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/03/2013 20:03

Like it a lot as a middle name but probably not as a first name.

Tweet2tweet · 03/03/2013 21:39

Thanks everyone- I am still undecided!

Ok but to me it's a bit like calling your child Willow - ensure your genes will create a waif like child to match the name. For the child's sake.

Ruprekt · 03/03/2013 21:43

do the test............

'All rise for Judge Wren Forster..............

This is your captain Wren Norris speaking........

This is Wren Jenkins, in the Gulf for BBC news.................

I would not like to be called Wren at my age. I am 42.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 03/03/2013 21:44

This is Wren.... and Stimpy.

shoobidoo · 03/03/2013 21:52

I find it very masculine and un-elegant sounding, sorry.

Rhubarbgarden · 03/03/2013 22:11

I love it.

DessieLou · 03/03/2013 22:30

No, it's a harsh ugly sounding name to my ears. Sorry!

StetsonsAreCool · 03/03/2013 22:31

Pelvic beat me to it.

Ren and Stimpy. Sorry.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 03/03/2013 23:24

I have heard it a lot on MM but don't know of any in rl. It makes me think of something small and dainty with a loud song. I personally would prefer Robin but Wren is softer than Lark.
