Nicknames for Robin

Hello

I have a toddler DD called Robin. One of my close friends has a slightly older toddler DS, also Robin. Big Robin and Little Robin is proving a mouthful. We need to give them different names and I'm a bit stuck.

DD is Bob at home. Trouble is, so is BF's DS.

So, what options do I have? DD has significant hearing loss in both ears so I'm not sure she'll get the difference between Rob and Bob....

Any ideas, even wildly far out ones, would be gratefully seized upon!

Thank you.

Robinho, like the footballer? Pronounced Robeenyo.

I tend to call her Wee Bean when on my own with her... not very helpful though, I guess. And Rocking Robin happens a fair bit... would Rocky be daft for a girl...?

D'yknow I'd just stick with robin. Rather than shortening it.

It's a beautiful name.

And I'd correct anyone who called her rob.

MoelFammau · 01/03/2013 23:10

Well I've been trying for several months. The trouble is when they're both pottering around in the park and boy Robin does something wrong / dangerous, the shouted 'ROBIN!' makes her cry because she thinks it's her. She also does stupid things but boy Robin is older and doesn't seem so bothered/confused when DD has the 'ROBIN!' treatment.

Maybe I could start calling boy Robin 'Batman'.

Thank you! Bobble is cute. She gets Bobsicle, Boblet and Boberoo here - not thought of Bobble!

Probably a bit too late for you but might be useful for someone else 😂 my son is 2yo and his name is Robin but at home he is Obbie. When I tell people is for Robin they always seem to like it here in the UK 😁 the story behind Obbie is that his big brother named him like that when he still couldn't pronounce Robin. So of course we love it!

IAmWomxxnHearMeRoar · 09/09/2021 09:19

Surely Bobbie is the logical one?

OhGingleBells · 09/09/2021 09:31

Love the name Robin!

What about Bonnie?

Not the most obvious shortening but all the sounds are there and it’s super cute!
