Which of these do you prefer? Of are there any other similar names?

I like Lola but I don't think that name ever goes down well on MN :)

Gimmeechocolate · 28/02/2013 18:50

Like them all. How about Lillia?

MoodyDidIt · 28/02/2013 18:52

Layla is a beautiful name

navada · 28/02/2013 18:57

Layla.

Don't like Lola & Lila at all.

afrikat · 28/02/2013 18:58

How about Lyra?

fertilityFTW · 28/02/2013 19:03

Expecting in May - and have Lilah and Leila on the shortlist!

Toptack · 28/02/2013 19:07

The last three baby girls to be born that I know were called Lola, Lila and Layla! Nice names but am suspicious they are about to become v popular.

cantfindadecentusername · 28/02/2013 19:15

What about Delilah and use Lila has a nickname. Love Delilah.

Ginebra · 28/02/2013 19:17

i think thjose names sound a bit dated already. they were popular 2000-2005.

I did consider Leila very seriously in 2002 though. Beautiful name. But glad I didn't go with it.

BeeBopDingALing · 28/02/2013 19:25

Like Lila & Lola. Not keen on Layla. I don't like this word, but the Laylas I have met are a bit ^chavvy

Locketjuice · 28/02/2013 19:30

Love them all Smile

Locketjuice · 28/02/2013 19:31

But lyla if I had to pick a name for mine, also Isla sounds really similar

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 28/02/2013 20:18

Lola will always make me think of the song about the transvestite of the same name (sorry).
Lila and Layla are both pretty.

forgetmenots · 28/02/2013 20:19

These aren't my cup of tea (I'm like this with a lot of popular names though). I'd prefer Lily, Isla or even Olivia nn Livia?

Out of the three though, Lila definitely, then Layla, then Lola which I really don't like (sorry)

ThoseArentSpiritFingers · 28/02/2013 20:31

I like lillia, but I have a cousing with the same name so can't really use it. If I'm honest Lila is my favourite, but I used to babysit for a girl of the same name a few years back, is it still ok to use the name despite this?

You can definitely use it OP! It's by far the nicest of the three, and unusual too.

GW297 · 01/03/2013 01:04

All three names beautiful!

emmyloo2 · 01/03/2013 02:45

To be honest, none of them are my cup of tea - they are all quite "now". I know lots of little Lilas and for me, they all just sound a bit the same. But that's just my taste....

Umlauf · 01/03/2013 09:21

My friend has a Leila pronounce Leela, its very pretty. I love Lila too, its Kate Moss' daughters name. lola reminds me if Lolita, sorry :-s

Willow36 · 01/03/2013 09:23

Lila, its very pretty.

ShepherdsSpy · 01/03/2013 09:23

Sorry, I think they are all very dated. Lily, at least it's a real name to my ears

The rest old sound made up - sorry.

ShepherdsSpy · 01/03/2013 09:24

PS as a child I cound not pronounce the letter L. Those names are my idea of hell Grin

ErikNorseman · 01/03/2013 09:29

They are all very popular now. They will date. However I still like Layla and lilya is also lovely.

raisah · 02/03/2013 07:42

How about the Persian name Laleh? Pronounced as Lahley and means tulip. I know a Laleh & she is so cheerful & lovely so a good alternative to Layla.

Layla is a very popular Arabic name in the muslim community & it means dark as the night.

HouseOfBears · 02/03/2013 09:39

I like Lila best I think, though I think it looks prettier as Lilah. Layla is ok, but really not keen on Lola (it just makes me think of Lola in eastenders!)
