I like the name Amy and am pretty certain its been around a few years but after looking at some old posts, some people seem to think that it sounds dated. Is this the case? Has Amy had a run of popularity and is now dated. I had thought it was a class

Would really appreciate some opinions please.

I think it's lovely Smile

I like it. I think Aimee is dated.

Amy is a classic girls name, very sweet but a name you can grow up with.

SPBInDisguise · 25/02/2013 15:42

No I love it. I think its one of thise names that will always be fairly popular

PearlyWhites · 25/02/2013 15:44

I love it.

Nice and underused at the moment. It's shortness would be refreshing in a classful of Isabellas, Seraphinas, Olivias and Beatrices which will be inevitable for her generation.

Love it. Underused and under rated. It would be in my list if a good friend hadn't beaten me to it.

It's a can't-go-wrong sort of name. Easy to pronounce, spell etc. Classic and no negative celebrity connotations, class assumptions or ways to shorten it that would annoy you.

Rogue apostrophe. Apologies.

Sashapineapple · 25/02/2013 21:46

I think it's a little bit dated, certainly spelt Aimee. Nothing major though, if you like it go with it

homeappliance · 25/02/2013 21:55

I don't think it's dated and unlikely to date. It's a short, sweet name that's not overly used. It's a name that suits baby, child, adult...
