Found out this morning that bump is boy3. DS's are Barnaby and Rory. Surname is rather boringly Clark so we need something slightly more different than Tom which my parents are v keen on or George which DS1 is v keen on but still not entirely off the wall. On the list are the following in no particular order (each with reasons why we are not sure about them). Any views/alternative suggestions?

Jasper (name of one of our cats....)
Hector (Northern ILs can't pronounce H's and not mad keen on the whole ectoplasm connection!)
Monty (reluctant to use a shortened name but don't like either full version)
Henry (quite popular these days, one of my faves but just not quite cutting it for some reason)
Angus (we're both quite keen on this but c good family friend is Angus/Gus and might be a bit weird)
Fergus (DH loves, I did quite like but am going off it, not sure why)
Miles (this is me really, is a family name on my side but DH doesn't like it all)

Middle name will be some random family name (DS's middle names are Eric and Frank!) and am not fussed about the whole "do the first and middle names go together" issue.

Thanks!

I think Monty or Henry go best!

Of your list I like Angus and Henry best. Angus is a great name and Gus is a good nn too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/02/2013 17:56

Love Hector and like Monty. Don't like Angus or Henry and deffo wouldn't name a child the same name as a cat.

Angus sounds fun! Unless you fall out spectacularly with your friend by the time your baby arrives, I'd not let the fact your DS3 would be sharing the name put you off.

Everyone else has given terrific suggestions, (especially Tobias) and may I just add to the list Ethan and Joshua?

Astley · 25/02/2013 15:36

Anything but Henry. Every other child seems to be called Henry these days!

I really love Miles too, have suggested it myself but it doesn't work with our surname at all really so I'm rather gutted actually as I'd always wanted to use it :(

Manoodledo · 25/02/2013 21:18

If you like Angus and Fergus, how about Magnus?
