What do you think about the name Lacey? I think its really pretty... but have heard a few not so positive opinions on it! We already have a DD called Holly.

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid but I can't pinpoint why. I think that maybe in conjures up an image of doilies.

ladymia · 23/02/2013 19:27

Not keen I'm afraid

Handsfullandlovingit · 23/02/2013 19:30

Go for it, teamed with a dignified middle name to add substance. I think it's pretty and unusual.

LynetteScavo · 23/02/2013 19:32

Well, it's not my cup of tea, but I think it goes well with Holly (which isn't my cup of tea either Grin).

If you like it, go for it.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 23/02/2013 19:34

Love it.

Though not sure I would have it with Holly.

scottishmummy · 23/02/2013 19:43

Lacey is horrid it's a porn star name

pansyflimflam · 23/02/2013 19:45

vile

usualsuspect · 23/02/2013 19:46

I like it.

StrawberryMojito · 23/02/2013 19:51

It's not great tbh. I think it's modern with a short life span of appeal. I immediately think glamour model/porn star. Holly is a lovely name though. Many things will go with it but, if I were you, I'd avoid another "-ey" name.

Spoonful · 23/02/2013 19:53

It is a bit common where I am.
But it might not have that connotation where you are.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 23/02/2013 20:04

Oh god, I am really sorry but all I can think of is Cagney and Lacey Blush

VBisme · 23/02/2013 20:08

Not keen at all. But then if you like it go for it.

survivingwinter · 23/02/2013 20:58

I know a lovely little Lacey but struggle to think of how the name might sound on an adult...

MolotovCocktail · 23/02/2013 21:03

Not my cup of tea, either, but I think that Lucy, Lana, Lara or Laura are nice alternatives :)

stargirl1701 · 23/02/2013 21:05

Cagney & Lacey.

Dominodonkey · 23/02/2013 23:12

I agree with spoonful - I am fairly indifferent to it myself. A lot of people would associate it with Lacey Turner from Eastenders who is very cockney.

Wewereherefirst · 23/02/2013 23:15

Not my cup of tea, I know a few Laceys and while it suits who they are, I wouldn't call my daughter that.

I'm not sure it goes with Holly either, sorry!

toastedteacake · 23/02/2013 23:21

Knickers.

Gwendolen Mary of course!

Better than Lacie I suppose...

NippyDrips · 23/02/2013 23:29

I love it but took it off our list after a lot of negative comments. Most people think it is common.

TwinTum · 23/02/2013 23:30

It is the type of name like Jayden that some would describe as chavvy.

squoosh · 24/02/2013 02:50

It's not 'vile' as someone has described. It's nice enough, goes well with Holly but is the kind of name that will get slated on Mumsnet. Who gives a fuck about that. If you love it then use it.

usualsuspect · 24/02/2013 09:31

Only twats would describe it as 'chavvy' or 'common' and who cares what they think.

applepieinthesky · 24/02/2013 10:32

I think it's ok but doesn't go with Holly.
