middle name dilemma

Hi,

First post ever on this site!

We are expecting a boy at the beginning of June. We love the name Miles and we wanted to use my dad's name as a middle name. His name is David. However, that would make it Miles David (a bit too close to the Jazz legend Miles Davis??!)
What do you think, and does anyone else know of any other middle names that would go nicely with Miles?

Miles David is fine!

If your surname were David, I'd perhaps advise you to think again but since David will be a middle name, I don't think you need to worry.

If it bothers you, you could use your partner's father's middle name as well as your dad's in between (e.g. Miles John David). I think you can get away with 2 middle names because both Miles and David are quite short names.

That is sooo spooky! My partner's father is called John. Although he hasn't seen him since he was 3, so no strong links there to say the least (and no step father to speak of!!)

It is helpful to know it doesn't sound too odd or cheesey - We don't have a problem with Miles Davis per say, but wouldn't want to give the impression we were crazed fans or anything!!
