Oh, my poor dd will be at school before we name her.
Dh has frequent wobbles about every name we consider.
I like Eleanor. Opinions please, in a large flurry before the registrar comes knocking at my door. Grin

So, to be clear. Eleanor is the name up for discussion. What do you think of it?

I think it's a beautiful, classic, elegant, timeless name :)

What would you think for a nn? Obviously there's Ellie, but also Ella/Elle, Lena, Nora, etc.

You can't go wrong, I don't think. Lovely name.

Emilythornesbff · 18/02/2013 08:47

Thank you.
Nn Ellie, nor, noo noo!!
Now please call my dh and tell him.

Eleanor - beautiful name!!

YummyMummyFeelingFunny · 18/02/2013 09:43

Eleanor is beautiful and classic.

MadameCastafiore · 18/02/2013 09:48

Think it's a nice name but she will be nn Ellie by school pals and there are 4 in DS's class alone.

As for Nora as a nn. It's horrible.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 18/02/2013 12:00

Ellie, Ells, Nell, you can't predict what she'll have her name shortened to. I know a Zoe, what a lovely name, can't abbreviate that I thought. Wrong! Her friends call her Zo.

If you both like Eleanor, go for it. Or Helen? Ellen? If DH isn't sure but can't come up with a name he likes for certain, you take charge Smile

Littlecherublegs · 18/02/2013 12:02

Lovely! Ellie is nice too though popular.
Also like Helena, Ellen and Ella.

Purplecatti · 18/02/2013 19:11

Pretty. Could be Nell, Ella, Ellen

Emilythornesbff · 19/02/2013 08:20

So we pretty much agreed and now dh keeps saying he can't remember the name!
I still love it but it's now competing with olivia and phoebe.
I am developing chest pain now. Grin
Sorry to keep on about it but could I have some more vos either way please?
Thanks

Back so soon Grin

Love Phoebe, Feebs not so much.
Olivia, excellent, and like either Liv or Livvy.

McKayz · 19/02/2013 18:50

I love Phoebe!!

There are 2 Eleanor's in DS1's year. One is called just Eleanor and the other is Nell occasionally Nelly. So it doesn't have to be Ellie.
