Girls names with French origin

Hello!
I'm a bit of a Francophile and would love to get some inspiration here for some names of French origin. Only thing is that the area can be a bit 'judgy' so I'm looking for something not too 'in your face' French. Strange brief I know! For example, I love Amelie but that would be looked at strangely here.
Any ideas please?
Thanks!

Louise is a lovely liveable name that won't be questioned. Plus there aren't many around these days. And it sounds pretty. (From a Louise.)

My French penpal at school was called Aurelie which I thought was very pretty.

Haven't read the whole thread but I love Sylvie.

again sorry to be a party pooper but Grin at the thought of a baby called Simone, Martine or Sylvie. It'd be like calling a baby Brenda or Jackie. Not that it matters if you don't live in France though I suppose.

Such lovely names!
I can see what you mean cuillere but I keep thinking that the thirty yr old Elodie would have also have been a cute baby once. I can definitely see your point though!

Although it does look a bit virgin-y written down. I love the way it sounds though.

My 12yo has a friend in her ballet class called Elodie - I think its a very pretty name.

this website might help you out, got names with norman origins. i especially like edith and aveline or avelyn. some of the names are plain weird though. i used to work with a girl called emilie (eh-mee-lee) which i thought was lovely and unusual

AmIGoingMad · 16/02/2013 14:51

Thanks for those! I really like both Elodie and Emilie. Really pretty names and not too out there either.
