Following on from my thread last week

We are warming to Wolfric, but don't know if it would be usable in everyday life

Other shortlisted options are Xander, Caspar, Xavier

Thoughts?

Wolfric is bloody fab! Love your other options too.

Thank you!

Bumping this...

I like Xander, dont like any of the others, sorry.

Sasparillo · 10/02/2013 17:52

Wolfric is truely awful, sorry! It instantly reminds me of the film (I can't remember the name of it now) it had a character called ruprict the monkey boy & it reminds me of that, and what If he grows up to be slightly hairier than most men, he'll be for we known as wolf man! Not a good choice in my opinion! Xavier is lovely pronounced zav-yay or Casper, not an offensive at all xx

LadyMargolotta · 10/02/2013 17:52

Love it. Prefer the Wulfric spelling though.

LadyMargolotta · 10/02/2013 17:54

Wolfie is fab too. That's getting more popular in the UK.

argylesocks · 10/02/2013 21:21

This is my secret fav name! Please use it because I can't :)
I also love Wolfe.

rachel234 · 10/02/2013 21:36

Wolfric is a great name! Cool, easy to spell pronounce and not overused. Wolf or Wolfie are great nicknames.

fortheloveofpinkflamingos · 11/02/2013 14:42

Do you think people would spell it correctly without being told how?

OP posts:
scaevola · 11/02/2013 14:52

I don' like that spelling, but think Wulfric is a lovely name.

fortheloveofpinkflamingos · 11/02/2013 14:57

Is Wulfric the more common spelling? Having a common name that is spelt an uncommon (but still normal) way, I would like to avoid this

I just googled Wolfric and got the message 'Do you mean Wulfric'

50 000 hits for Wolfric; 500 000 hits for Wulfric.

EauRouge · 11/02/2013 15:07

Wolfric/Wulfric is bloody brilliant. Either spelling is accepted I think.

badtime · 11/02/2013 15:59

To be honest, I only clicked on this thread to say that 'Wulfric' is the more usual spelling. I think Wolfric looks really wrong.

dubai71 · 11/02/2013 16:13

I'm with Vito, I like Xander but not so keen on the rest. Sorry.

lifeistooshort · 11/02/2013 16:19

OP why would you want to do that to your child. He will be teased endlessly at school and will be nicknamed wolf/wolverine/freak etc...

I like Caspar and Xavier though

MERLYPUSS · 11/02/2013 16:32

I like Wolf (to sound like wolfe not woolfe) and Xander (short of Alexander so beware if you don't like this version)

Sunnysummer · 12/02/2013 08:33

DH and I both looove Wulfric! But we are also foreign and a bit geeky and thought that our DS might already be an easy target, and the name would just add to the challenge of teenage years... To me it is adorable for a. Aby, manly for an adult, but very hard to live with in-between.

TheOneAndOnlyAlpha · 12/02/2013 08:36

Sorry but I don't like it. I try and imagine what a child would feel with a name at 5, 10, 15, 30 etc. I work in a school and kids are harsh. Wolfie might be cute on a 5 year old but any older... Not so much.

MERLYPUSS · 12/02/2013 09:45

I think it's great. However if your kid turns out to be a bit of a wuss it may be a hard name to live up to. It kinda reminds me of a Bear Grills type of person - out there making dens etc.

Oscarandelliesmum · 12/02/2013 13:43

All lovely, Wolfie Grin fabulous!!

FriggFRIGGisPoorlySick · 12/02/2013 15:00

Love wulfric!

fortheloveofpinkflamingos · 12/02/2013 15:09

merlypuss, you have got a point. I am beginning to think Caspar goes better with our older boys' names, although DH is still pushing Wulfric

OP posts:
Psammead · 12/02/2013 15:13

I love Wulfric. We have no Dss but Wolf would be on our list if we did.

lottiegarbanzo · 12/02/2013 15:23

I knew it would be your DH who'd suggested it! It always is with wolf names.
