We had decided to go with either Samuel or Oscar for upcoming DC (don't know whether boy or girl, but getting there with girls names). These are pretty much the only two boys names we both like. I love Laurence but DH doesn't. I'm veering towards Samuel as even though both are very popular I feel that Samuel is more classic whereas Oscar feels a bit 2011/2012/2013 popular, iykwim. I have a couple of weeks to go and so am having one last attempt at coming up with something I like as much but which maybe is less popular.

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Something strong and classic but not in the top (at least) 20. Names ending with an S are generally out because of our surname.

Otherwise Samuel it is....thanks.

Nathaniel xx it can be shortened to Nat, Nate, Nathan - its classic not made up and not in top 100. It means "gift of god" But i am biased as my ds name.

Leo Alexander

Gabriel Alexander
Jasper Alexander
Caleb Alexander
Theodore Alexander
Dominic Alexander
Rowan Alexander
Zachary Alexander
Leon Alexander
Cameron Alexander
Elliott Alexander
Christopher Alexander
Callum Alexander

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I appreciate it.
I quite like Daniel (but dislike Dan and Danny), Gregory (not keen on Greg), Joseph and Gabriel. But still nothing as much as Samuel or Oscar.
So maybe I have to resign myself to a popular name where potential DS could be one of five in his class rather than pick something more unusual for the sake of it..........just thought I should feel a bit more excited about my final name choice!
