Lol I know 4 people with names mentioned already, 3 of who are family membersGrin. Must have been a dull generation regarding names they're all similar ages: late 40's/50's.

Rhubarbgarden · 28/01/2013 09:00

Why would you want a name to be sexy?

DoctorAnge · 28/01/2013 09:01

Brian

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:03

I mean it's attractive and appealing i.e. it has sex appeal.

Sorry OP, I'm grumpy this morning. Normally I just ignore if I don't like (as do most people I think).

Could be that my name was the subject of one of these threads and I'm peeved Wink. Although someone did then come on to say my name 'chimed like a bell' Grin

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:04

and yet TomArchersSausage they managed to reproduce so at least someone wasn't turned off Wink!

Given a few more years these'll be the latest must have ironic names used as a nod to the past like Ethel and Arthur and Stan are now.

They just haven't had enough time ripen yet.

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:07

Exactly, Noris WILL have his day

OP posts:
ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 28/01/2013 09:11

Don't you think this is a bit mean? Imagine if someone is having a proper bad day self-esteem wise, and they see their name?

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:17

Joyce and Marjorie are actually on their way back in. I love Joyce, also my friend has a Sylvie.

I think Ariel that's it's usually your mum and dad's generation that have the least appealing names because you can't see them in any other light other than parents.

MolotovCocktail · 28/01/2013 09:39

Norman, Norris, Egbert, Derek.

Doreen, Doris, Hilda, Noreen.

MolotovCocktail · 28/01/2013 09:39

And Beryl.

bobthebuddha · 28/01/2013 09:45

I don't see the point of these threads; doesn't it occur to the OPs that it might upset someone if they see their name? They are completely mean-spirited

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:45

Beryl was my mum's second name! Grin her first name was Vivienne

OP posts:
ArbitraryUsername · 28/01/2013 09:47

My own first name is incredibly unsexy. And just generally horrible. I have no idea what my parents were thinking.

HoneyandRum · 28/01/2013 09:48

We can stop, I think you're taking it in the wrong spirit as it wasn't meant that way. I had no idea this was a common theme.

How do you contact a MOD around here?

OP posts:
Nancy66 · 28/01/2013 09:49

do you think there are loads of people out there called Kevin and Barbara who are all harbouring under the belief that they have a sexy name - and now their dreams are crushed?

It wouldn't upset me if I saw my name. I couldn't give a fuck what a bunch of faceless people on an internet forum think.

I've already seen my mum and dad's names. So what? It's not an attack on the person - it's just an opinion on their name - and one they didn't choose at that.
