If so, do they have a nickname? Not sure if it can be shortened or not. Can't think of what it could be shortened to!

I know an Austin, but we all ( family, friends ) use his full name ( interestingly he has also been known to be a bit of a twat !)

ISpyPlumPie · 27/01/2013 14:55

Only one I've ever known is an old cricket team mate of DH's. He's probably late twenties and doesn't have a nickname - is just Austin.

ISpyPlumPie · 27/01/2013 14:56

Btw as far as I know this Austin is not twat Grin.

WeAreSix · 27/01/2013 14:56

Yes, I know 2 under 7yo with Austin as a first name and one baby with Austin as a middle name.

One is Austin one is Oz / Ozzy.

Used to know one called Oz.

Ficidy · 27/01/2013 14:59

I know one. He's in his 30s and has always been known as Austin. Nothing else.

Lighthousekeeping · 27/01/2013 15:00

Yes and he's strange. Not a prat just, err, difficult.

DameMargotFountain · 27/01/2013 15:02

i know an austin too

guess what?

he's a twat as well

sorry OP

HoobleDooble · 27/01/2013 15:06

I know one too ... Beginning to think maybe a lot of us know the same one because, guess what? Yes, he's a twat!

Lighthousekeeping · 27/01/2013 15:08

I'm thinking that too and, dreading someone coming on and satiny "that's my husbands name" Grin

ChristianGreyIsAJackass · 27/01/2013 15:09

I know a 2 yr old austin... He is cute most definitely not a twat

Shybairns · 27/01/2013 15:10

I know a 3 year old Austin who is a delightful boy. Not keen on the name my self.

Ozfrazror · 27/01/2013 15:12

Well my ds1 is called Austen and he is most definitely NOT a twat! We call him Oz 80% of the time. I love the name although possibly wish I'd spelt it with an 'I' instead of 'e' at the end because his name is always spelt wrong everywhere he goes!

shellyf · 27/01/2013 15:17

I know a lovely six year old called Austin.

shellyf · 27/01/2013 15:18

His siblings call him oz or ozboz.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/01/2013 15:19

Only a cat

Rhubarbgarden · 27/01/2013 15:20

I don't know well any but I've met three or four at playgroups. They've always been just Austin as far as I know.

3HotCrossBuns · 27/01/2013 15:33

My DS2 is also Austen (nearly 6) and he can be a little bugger at times!! He gets called Austy by us, everyone just calls him Austen. I also wish we'd spelled it with an "i" as it is nearly always misspelled. I suspect he will change it later, as an adult, as many emails will probably never arrive in his inbox otherwise!! I blame the post-labour hormones - "no, not like Austin Powers, like Jane Austen" Grin Blush Nonetheless lots of people tell me they like his name.

MoelFammau · 27/01/2013 15:52

I know an Austin. He's mid-20s. He's called Austin. Sometimes Doctor Austin. He's not a doctor. Lovely guy though, just to counteract the 'twat' Austins on this thread!

DrMcDreamysWife · 27/01/2013 15:54

I have taught a couple of austins, both quite strange odd little boys who didn't socialise well....

As a result not a name I would choose

Ellypoo · 27/01/2013 16:42

I know an Austin, he's only about 10. Sometimes called Aus (oz) or Ausser (ozzer) mainly just Austin though.
