Ellie

Girl names ending in Lee, Lea, Leigh

Rory is currently compulsory around here - I know of 3 babies born so far in 2013 - all of them boys, all called Rory.

girliefriend · 25/01/2013 16:51

The latest babies I know of here are called Theo, Lily, Gustav and Lowell.

I like all those names Smile

RooneyMara · 25/01/2013 17:23

I do wonder if Jayden will be the equivalent of Kevin circa 1985.

RooneyMara · 25/01/2013 17:23

Oh and there was a Tyler (second name Julian - cool!) and a Lucas when I was in hospital the other week.

BikeRunSki · 25/01/2013 18:29

Every other under-2 girl seems to be called Amelia round here.

Ninka · 25/01/2013 18:56

ZenNudist · 25/01/2013 19:21

Sophie
Joseph (great name)
Amelia (love it why does it have to be so popular?)

I only know 2 Noahs (again its lovely) so it's not over-used afaik

I only know one (adult) Imogen. I'd love this for future daughter of mine but I hear its popular and do not want a common name.

James/ William/ Catherine (Kitty)/ Charlotte/ George / Harry /Beatrice anything 'royal'

Isabelle / Isobel

It's a real challenge finding something nice that isn't going to be the same as everyone else in the class.

Varya · 25/01/2013 19:23

Ellie

Isabella

Lacey-Jane

Hannah

Jamesina

Perdita

Adie

Partrick

Harrison

I know a lovely Jayden. No behavioural issues. He's 13 now.

It's not a name I would choose but, then again, I wouldn't choose lots of the really popular names listed on here either. Doesn't make it awful.

Both my DSs' names always appear on 'naughty boys' names' type threads. Especially DS2's name (which seems to be the quintessentially 'naughty' name according to those threads). They're both in the top 100 names too.

I like them. They like them. That's all that matters.

bigbluebump · 25/01/2013 19:34

I guess all the top 10 names are likely to be most widely heard.

We've got lots of:
Lily/Evie/Ellie/Sophie/Isabella/Amelia/Ella
Jack/Archie/Charlie/Ollie/Harry/Finley/Will/Ben/Tom

Varya - I am intrigued by your most populars... Where are you?

What is most popular depends massively on the circle you are in. DH taught for many years in a predominantly west Indian and African school in East London. There were definite name trends but very different from those on these boards!!! I think that the spread of names is now do great that outside very specific social circles and outside the tip 5 names nationally, nothing's actually that over used!

Chottie · 25/01/2013 23:26

Both my DC children's names have appeared prominently on these lists. But the interesting thing is that they are aged 31 and 35.

I'm in Manchester. Prominent names are;

Jake
Jamie
Charlie
Harry
Oliver
Olly

Evie
Ava
Eva
Mia
Holly
Lexie
All can be accompanied by a Mae or Rae.

I have a DD 14 named Chloe, before it became really popular but I still love the name for her, she is a Chloe IYSWIM. Grin

I also have a DS 7 weeks, named Jude. His middle name is Robert and even if its shortened to JR, I like it Grin

reastie · 26/01/2013 08:29

Henry, Edward and George seem to crop up all the time here. I refer to them as Thomas the Tank Engine names Grin
