Initials FA?

Would you worry about the initials FA? (i.e f**k all) Either first name and surname or middle name and surname?

Not for the reason you suggest. If the child had v prominent ears which gave it a resemblance to the FA Cup it would be unfortunate. But otherwise no concerns. Have seen way worse initials than that.

My dad says "sweet FA" all the time so it might occur to me but if you love an F name I'm not sure it would be enough to put me off.

Depends on if FA are first and middle name. If surname begins with T I wouldn't but if it begins with B I would!
