Apart from Petroc (great, but the name of a relatively local college), what are some of the more user friendly / less unusual Cornish boys names? Oh, and girls names while we're here!

Demelza
Tryphena
Tamsin
Tamar
Cordelia
Damaris (I don't know that this is strictly Cornish, but I see it a lot on west country 19th C censuses)

Does anyone know about Ennor? Cornish right? Is it "en-na"? Meaning?

I think Lamorna Birch (artist) was a bloke but basically, pick any place name you like. I've come across girls called Veryan and Mawgan.

I'm sure there must be traditional names in the Cornish language too... there'll be books.

Piran for a boy

Nessa or Sennen for a girl

Loveday, it's my name Grin

MadBusLady · 17/01/2013 07:22

I love Loveday! Another one I see doing west country genealogy.

I quite like Kenan for a boy. And Kerensa for a girl. I had a Cornish girl in my class at school with this name years ago, and I've always thought it was very pretty.
