Just found out I'm having a little boy and do stuck on names! We had a girls name sorted but can't think of anything for a boy. I like William, my partner isn't so keen!

Just coming on to say William is my fave!! really really wished we had given it to DS as his first name and not middle

I think William is lovely. What's your DP's objection to it?

AlisonL1981 · 12/01/2013 20:03

He says it will be shortened to will or bill etc. I also think its partly due to his mum not liking it Hmm

Love William have you thought about the nn Liam?
Also there's
Alexander
George
Thomas
Matthew
Henry?

Bazinga12 · 12/01/2013 21:46

What sort of name is he after? Something along the same lines or a bit more 'out there'?

BlueBowTie · 13/01/2013 23:29

Conor, Benjamin, Walter, Alex, Finn or Jamie perhaps?

I think William is very popular. DC1 has 2 in her class, DC2 has 1 in his class, DC3 has 2 in his class and 2 in the other reception class. There are at least 2 at every playgroup we attend.

It's a lovely name though.

There is a little William in ds's class that gets teased with Willy...

How about Edward, Peter or Henry?

llamallama · 14/01/2013 07:16

I love William and Billy as a shortening!

catinboots · 14/01/2013 07:21

Wilfred?

bananaramma · 14/01/2013 12:14

I'm not keen on William/Willy/Billy, I'm afraid. But what matters is not what we think but you and your partner. If he's not keen on William, Id keep looking for a name you both love.
