For boys, Jack (not as popular here in the US) or Alexander. I like Alec as nickname.

For girls, Sophie or Margaret, probably called Maggie day-to-day.

Vote! :)

Oh, and we have a Sam already.

I adore Alec - either on it's own or as a nickname for an Alexander.
If I ever have a boy he will be Alec. It's classic, masculine, simple and still unusual enough to stand out.

HyvaPaiva · 12/01/2013 15:34

Alexander and Margaret are both so lovely. 'Sam and Alec', 'Sam and Maggie' sound equally great.

Maggie and Alec (good Scottish names there!)

DHs grand parents were Alexander (sandy) and Maggie-Bella not short for anything her father thought Margaret Isabella was too posh for their farming roots!

Both names are on our list of no 2 is ever on the cards!

Allinonebucket · 12/01/2013 15:39

I cat decide between the boys but I really like Maggie.

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2013 15:55

Me too lockets...you know I want five eventually! :o

Don't like either of the boys' names, sorry.
Margaret for a girl, with Meg or Daisy as nicknames - not fond of Maggie. Sam and Meg/Sam and Daisy sound lovely together.

RobinSparkles · 12/01/2013 17:30

Jack and Sophie :)

MadameCastafiore · 12/01/2013 17:33

I like Alexander but prefer xander to Alec. Alec sound like an old man to me.

Sophie is pretty and I always thought maggie harsh for a child till I met a very clever, pretty, forthright Maggie.

HoratiaWinwood · 12/01/2013 17:42

Alec and Maggie.

MarmaladeSkies · 12/01/2013 18:23

I love Alexander. Not such a fan of Jack but it's ok.

Sophie is nice.Margaret and Maggie are harsh and ugly imho.

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2013 18:52

I used to feel that way about Margaret/Maggie too Marmalade but suddenly I love it!

Also I am Megan Remus so we probably wouldn't call her Meg. :)

Jack or Maggie - lovely lovely names. I like Alexander a lot too, but not Alec.

AuntAlexandra · 12/01/2013 19:20

Either of the girls names - both are good. Alec for your boy is absolutely great.

Harrysmummysarah1 · 12/01/2013 20:19

Sam and maggie is lovely so is Sam and Alex
How about Sam and dotty(Dorothy)
Sam and tommy (Thomas) or Tom

BadRoly · 12/01/2013 20:22

Well I have an Alexander (Ally) so I'm biased there Wink

I like Maggie a lot Smile

Harrysmummysarah1 · 12/01/2013 20:32

Alexander or Margaret (nn Meg?)

scarecrow22 · 13/01/2013 17:44

Sorry, just seen not Meg. Maggie lovely too

forgetmenots · 13/01/2013 17:48

Jack and Sophie are so, so popular here I find it hard to separate that - love Alexander (also Alistair), and Margaret. I prefer Margot to Maggie, but also Pearl is a lovely diminutive.
