What do you expect from Lucas?

If you meet a Lucas from London, what sort of people do you expect him to be? What kind of parents/background does he have?

And finally, do you know many Lucases? (in which part of the world are you?)

Many thanks!

Alliterative Grin

WaynettaSlobsLover · 08/01/2013 22:53

I expect him to be half Mediterranean, dark eyed and haired with a cheeky face, cool youngish type patents who like to travel and for him to be a sweet bouncy little boy :). Never met a Lucas in my life but love the name

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 08/01/2013 22:54

Bit naughty!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/01/2013 22:55

I don't really expect anything. But I know a fair few of them up here in NE England. And a workmate from Liverpool has picked that as her boys name. So think it it quite popular.

Teapot13 · 08/01/2013 22:57

We know a German Lukas, an American Lucas, and a Lucas here in London. All perfectly nice children but given how many we know it is off the table for us, although it is a lovely name.

Tommy · 08/01/2013 22:57

I have a nephew called Lucas who lives in London.
He is named after George Lucas (my BIL is big into Star Wars)
Hmm

sonnieboo · 08/01/2013 22:57

I wouldn't have any expectation. I know so many Lucases and Lukes and they're all very different!

MumVsKids · 08/01/2013 22:58

My DNephew (4mths) is Lucas and he's just gorgeous, olive skin, dark hair, dark green eyes and totally bouncy and cheeky.

Don't know any others tho, and we're midlands :)

WaynettaSlobsLover · 08/01/2013 23:35

Mumvskids your nephew sounds exactly how I look lol. Never hear anyone describe green eyes as 'dark' but that's what mine are! Seems like these Lucas's are cheeky chappies though :)

3smellysocks · 08/01/2013 23:42

Lucas 2
Luka 1

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/01/2013 23:45

Dark haired, intelligent, a little cheeky (in a sweet way)

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/01/2013 23:46

I've never met a Lucas so don't know why I think as above but I do.

pinkandyellowbutterfly · 09/01/2013 00:00

Ive taught a few and they have all been different. Try not to have name expectations, you don't want to type cast your child before he/she is born! Lucas is a very strong and increasingly popular name!!

A gay graphic designer

Thanks for the responses, apparently it invokes positive things to everyone, which is great! :)

I think the worst bit about the name is it's popularity (all around the world, so we have nowhere to run!).

There are two Lucas's in my sons year, (year 3). It is a nice enough name but very popular. Prefer Luke personally.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/01/2013 12:43

It's popular though because it's a nice name - and it's a classic as well.

WiseKneeHair · 09/01/2013 12:48

Strawberry coloured hair, blue eyes, gorgeous.
Bright, cheeky and doesn't like going to bed.
but that might just be my 4yo Lucas

I obviously love the name and don't personally know any others.

EllaEllaElla · 09/01/2013 12:50

I am a teacher......this morning I gave Lukas a detention

But it is a lovely name!

CharlieBoo · 09/01/2013 19:31

I think it's a bit wet.. Sorry

MustTidyPlayroom · 09/01/2013 21:03

I have a Lucas (5) - Not at all wet!

Dark hair and eyes, olive skin, tall & skinny, kind, cheeky, loves to have fun, adorable dimples and very sporty!

And he is the only one I know.

schroedingersdodo · 09/01/2013 22:21

Thanks for all the comments! It took us weeks after DS2 was born to decide on a name - we settled on Lucas, for a lot of (good) reasons and only now I am starting to feel better about it (he is 2 months old). Glad to see you all like the name too (well, most of you).

I really hope he won't hate me for having a very popular name (that was my only - and big - caveat. Fortunately not all of you think it is that popular, so there is still hope!)

My Lucas regularly beats up his 8 and 11 yo brothers, so not wet.Grin

MulledWineAndScully · 10/01/2013 12:35

I think of Lucas as being a bit of a scamp but not in a malicious way! I'm a big Michael McIntyre fan and he's got a son called Lucas who he talks about as such, so that's probably why. I know it's really popular at the moment so personally I wouldn't choose it but I do like it a lot.
