I can't decide between Rosa Frances and Rosa Florence for baby number 5. Dh isn't fussed either way! Anyone want to offer an opinion?

I have a Rosa too and I vote Rosa Florence, unless you object to the vague Italian theme. Florence is just gorgeous - very elegant.

Rosa is a great name - she was just telling me today how much she likes it and she is especially thrilled with Rosa Parks connection.

Since we share the share similar taste, I'd love to hear your other DC names (though not if you're worried about being identified)

The other names are quite diffrent to Rosa, so maybe not similar in taste at all! The girls are called Grace and Kimberly.

I quite like Florence as a first name, but Rosa is the one I think! No one else knows we are having a girl, not even DH!

Does either of them have a meaning/family connection behind it?

If not I'd go for Florence I think (though I like Frances as well).

No family connection to either name. Do you think it sounds too pretty/flowery?

I prefer Rosa Frances. I think the two names sort of balance each other nicely.

Rosa is pretty and romantic and Frances sounds sophisticated and ( struggling to think of the right word but steady or sensible is what I'm thinking!)

happy2bhomely · 03/01/2013 10:31

That's what I thought! Rosa and Florence together might be too romantic sounding. Frances does add something else, but I'm not 100% that I even like the name on it's own.

I love any combination of Rosa ....Smile

Both are lovely, but Florence does make it a lot more girlie. I would go for Rosa Francis.
I have worked with a Rosa, and I teach a Rosa. Both are lovely, intelligent people. Fab name.
