Boys name help....

Please help us to decide on a name for DC3- we already have two girls and a potential girls name but really stuck on a boys name....just don't seem to love anything!

So some boys names my husband and I like are:

Harris
Kingsley
Rafferty
Lawrence
Fraser

Trouble is, we just don't love any of them! Which name from the list would you choose/ avoid and why?

Or if you can suggest other names you think we might like please feel free....

Thanks in advance! Grin

Ah, we had exactly the same issue as you but in the end DC3 saved us the problem and turned out to be another DD.

I like most of the names on your list except Kingsley. Of the others I'd rank them:

Lawrence
Rafferty
Harris
Fraser

I love Lawrence and it would have been our no.1 choice for a boy. We also considered Toby, Barnaby and Noah. I love Rafferty too but would probably not have been brave enough to go with it. You might also like Tristan or Wyatt.

Best wishes.

Thanks, with Lawrence we don't like nick name of "Lorry" - sounds naff!

Rafferty I like for a boy but not sure how it would work for a man?

Heard Harris has a link to"arse" in cockney slang even though I have never heard of this, perhaps we wouldn't in North London!

Someone inspire me please!!!!

Nickname Laurie looks cooler though and is nice name.

For some reason your thread makes me think of Timothy.

I love Kingsley and Lawrence.
DD was going to be called Leonard (Leo, Leon, Lenny) if she were a boy and DS born almost three years later has Leonard as one of his middle names.

I love Fraser but not allowed to use it! Others DP vetoed are Rupert, Flynn & Everett. He suggested Errol the other day which surprised me though!

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 30/12/2012 08:11

What kind of names do your daughters have?

We too are expecting a DS after two DCs and are finding boy's names impossible. Not one excites me.

I notice even on MN you get fewer ideas and replies to boy's name threads than to girls.

lovedimsum · 01/01/2013 16:34

We have one traditional English name and one very Italian Spanish sounding name for our two girls....find out this week the sex so we might not have a problem after all if its another girl! My husband is obsessed by the name Atticus for a boy but I really don't love it I'm afraid!

Lawrence is the only one on your list that I like. I really don't like Rafferty. Too cartoonish.

survivingwinter · 01/01/2013 20:10

Lawrence - doesn't have to be shortened but I would spell it Lawrie or Laurie if you do! Lovely name and underused I think!

Viviennemary · 01/01/2013 20:15

I think Lawrence is the best one and a perfectly OK name. Fraser isn't too bad. Rafferty is absolutely dreadful. It's a pets name. Harris not keen but passable. Not keen on Kingsley.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 01/01/2013 20:17

Hmmm.....not keen on any of them.

What about Travis?

JingleBellaTheGymnast · 02/01/2013 20:07

Luther?
Lev?
Seth?
Dashiell?
