So lets say your surname was the same as the cancer charity that begins with Mac.... Would you have a Dylan?

No, I knew a holly jolly once.

TeaBrick · 27/12/2012 16:27

I knew a Jane Splaine once, and a Michaela Taylor. I don't think it was that much of a big deal for them, but their names did stick in my mind. Your example does sound a bit like a character in a rhyming children's book. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad tbh.

No. Growing up with a rhyming name is a complete fucking nightmare.

InTheBoonies · 27/12/2012 16:33

No, it sounds a bit silly. I knew a Jane Payne once!

Beaditsback · 27/12/2012 17:20

Thanks, I though it might be the case. Our boys list is so varied but we both totally agreed on Dylan. Will keep extending my list until Dh finds one he doesn't vetoe instantly

PrincessMononoke · 27/12/2012 21:44

I like it, I think the Mac bit breaks it up a bit.

GreatCongas · 27/12/2012 21:44

Sorry no

It sounds like a hairy mclairy character Smile

littlecloud · 28/12/2012 16:29

I like it sounds kinda cool, also would stick in your mind!

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/12/2012 16:57

I wouldn't.

lovemybabyboy · 29/12/2012 15:10

No, I wouldn't.
I know of a Aaron Barron...the parents didn't say the full name together before naming the child and didn't realise!

Bakingtins · 29/12/2012 18:56

Nope. I had a teacher called (Mrs) Lesley Presley - we concluded she must REALLY love him to take his name and be a laughing stock.
