I know several both children and grown up and they are all lovely Smile

My daughter is called Polly and she loves her name. There are no others at school with her and her teachers always say what a lovely name she has. Her friends like it too. Our surname is quite unusual and distinctive and Polly goes very well with it. It is a beautiful name in my opinion.

Onezerozero · 27/12/2012 12:34

I prefer Holly myself, but it is Ok.

Phoebe47 · 27/12/2012 12:46

I would also like to add that we have never had the "Polly put the kettle on" thing but she did once dress up as "Miss Polly had a dolly" for a class Nursery Rhyme day when she was in Reception class.

I love this name - wanted to put it on our list but DH has sadly vetoed.

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 27/12/2012 12:52

Ah I think it's a sweet name!

Clawdy · 27/12/2012 14:16

Absolutely love it,would have chosen it if had another girl.

Alisvolatpropiis · 27/12/2012 14:45

I like it. Have never met one.

CPtart · 27/12/2012 15:19

I know one. Don't like the name at all. Sounds like a dolls name to me, sorry.

Mollydoggerson · 27/12/2012 15:27

I like it, it is sweet, would not suit a big bulky girl, so could be burdensome depending on the child.

Rhubarbgarden · 27/12/2012 19:58

I like it. I know an adult Polly.

pollywollywoowah · 27/12/2012 20:07

Great name Wink

Clumsasaurus · 27/12/2012 20:16

Fab name, don't know any but it's gorgeous!

Lovethesea · 27/12/2012 20:29

Not my taste, but I don't like Molly, Holly or Polly.

Reminds me of dolls and just doesn't have enough weight to it for me.

sarahseashell · 27/12/2012 21:27

love it

LilyVonSchtupp · 27/12/2012 22:08

One of the loveliest people I know is called Polly. It is a great name.

Dramajustfollowsme · 27/12/2012 22:43

I wanted Pollyanna, nn Polly but my dh vetoed it. If we had another girl though I'd push for it again. Love the name.

Eebs · 27/12/2012 23:03

I have a Polly. She does get called Holly or Poppy occasionally but it's still such a fabulous name. Don't know any others. Often get complimented on it because it's not a name heard often but isn't strange.

hurricanemum · 02/01/2013 22:33

dd mn is Polly. really wanted it but had promised to use a family name. it is a pretty but not frilly name. go for it. have been teaching for 11 yrs and only ever had one.

MarianForrester · 02/01/2013 22:34

Love it Smile

birdofthenorth · 02/01/2013 22:39

I really like it, know a couple of people who considers it but none who used it

Yika · 02/01/2013 22:46

I know a little Polly. To me it sounds posh but in a nice way. I think it's much nicer than Holly or Molly, both of which I think are quite ugly names. However, it sounds a little bit like a nickname or, as other posters have said, like a doll's name.

AuntyAnna · 06/01/2013 01:44

Love Polly, know a Pollyanna but prefer Polly
