DH has said that he would like to honour his Nana if DC2 is a girl (not pg as yet, just thinking ahead). Not overly keen on Molly as a complete name but can't work out what it is short for. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think it's Mary...but I may be wrong!

Margaret.

Margaret?

HorraceTheChristmasOtter · 17/12/2012 21:00

I think it's a variant of Mary, rather than a NN. Not 100% though.

Slow typing, sorry.

Yes it was a diminutive for Mary.

Historically, Mary.
A character in a children's book used it as a nickname for Margaret though.

Mary.
