Which do you prefer? To go with DS1 George.

Thanks

Love George for a start - that was my first choice before partner changed my mind. Felix is really interesting. But it will always bring to mind felix the cat (but im 30 and i guess kids today dont know that reference) Hugo is very very posh to me. Arthur is nice and goes well with George.
There's my 2 cents. So i think id go for Arthur 1st
Felix 2nd
Hugo 3rd
Although felix is sort of growing on me.

Felix (biased).

emmyloo2 · 14/12/2012 07:46

Thanks! I think that's my order of preference is well.

I love George as well. It wasn't my first choice (I wanted Edward) but now we adore it and he is 2 and absolutely suits George. Plus where we live there are literally no other Georges around under the age of around 50. I know it is popular in the UK but we are about 10 years behind here in Australia. Arthur for example will most certainly raise eyebrows, but I love it!

Arthur, definitely. Ds has some friends called Felix, it's great now but I think it's an odd name for an adult.

No Georges under 50? What about George Gregan? :) (although thinking about it I think he may have been born in Zimbabwe....)

ceeveebee · 14/12/2012 07:59

Did you use Edward for DS1's middle name?

I like Arthur first, then Felix. I don't like Hugo at all though!

iamwhaticallpregnant · 14/12/2012 08:10

To be honest - i cant say Hugo without putting on a very very ridiculous posh accent and emphasising the heeewwwwgo.
Have you thought about Henry or Harry? Love those with George.
Def think you are right with Arthur. Didnt realise you were Australian. Lived there for a year and everyone I met were called Dan, Bob, Shane, Nathan, TJ DJ AJ and Mitch.

BoraBora · 14/12/2012 08:26

Felix, but DD's called Tabitha, so the cat thing clearly doesn't bother me Smile

LondonElfInFestiveCheerBoots · 14/12/2012 11:25

Felix, then Hugo, but not much between them. Hate Arthur.

There are a lot of Felixs (Felixii?) lately though, that may put me off (but as soon as I shortlist a name, I hear it everywhere so that might be why). I quite like the cat thing - Leo, Felix and Kit are some of my favourites!)

DeGlitterBug · 14/12/2012 11:27

Hugo

No contest.

Britchic · 14/12/2012 11:32

Hugo by a long way, then Arthur, then Felix.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 14/12/2012 11:34

Arthur for me.

Don't like Hugo or Felix

InTheBoonies · 14/12/2012 11:44

I don't like Arthur much. Just a bit flat sounding.

Felix is my favorite, it means 'happy' and it sounds full of life.

Hugo is nice also.

forgetmenots · 14/12/2012 14:44

Arthur for me. And may I say, as a proud Scot (and I know you're in Australia!) two lovely and very English boys names - would definitely use if I were south of the border.

shoobidoo · 14/12/2012 15:59

Whilst I like Hugo, it has a funny beginning in English: Heew-go whereas in German for example it is pronounced phonetically as Hoo-go.

Felix is a well known brand of cat food, in every supermarket.

Arthur is nice but I'm not keen on Artie (farty), sorry.

How about George and Edward or George and Quentin or George and Thomas?

Floralnomad · 14/12/2012 16:02

Love Hugo , not keen on the others , what about George and Angus ?

forgetmenots · 14/12/2012 16:10

Angus is my favourite! (Top of my list for DC1 if it's a he). Albert also lovely and more English (just thought that was more of the vibe OP was going for).

Ham69 · 14/12/2012 16:41

Love all 3! Not helpful, I know, but any of the 3 would go really well with George.

squoosh · 15/12/2012 00:01

I only like Arthur.

Felix is incredibly wet and Hugo is a bit Hooray Henry.

cat · 15/12/2012 02:23

We have a Hugo.

Hugs, Hugzy or Baby Hugs are his nicknames.
