What do we think?

How do you pronounce it - giving both syllables an equal weight, or does the 'o' sound disappear?

Nope.

Dogsmom · 30/11/2012 13:31

Dingle.

Yes pronounced Mar-lon not Marlen.

magicrat · 30/11/2012 13:34

makes me think of Marlon King. that can never be a good thing. Sorry!

I'd say Mar-lon like Marlon Brando. Masculine, underused, easy to spell - what's not to like?

FireOverBabylon · 30/11/2012 13:44

No, if you're naming DS after the actor, go for Brando not Marlon. It reminds me of Emerdale and I don't even watch it.

It's dreadful, sorry. There are so many nice names around, don't pick Marlon. It sounds like one of the Jackson Five.

Gah, we're never going to find a name!
