"yon Cassius has a lean and hungry look" is what I hear in my head whenever I hear the name. I think I would find it difficult to get past that TBH.

How is it pronounced....if its Cass ee us I like it, if its Cash us I'm not too sure I like it!

In America it is Cash-us. In England, can be either. I quite like it but don't really like Cass - too close to casser in French (to break).

I like it, but it means 'vain', which put me off.

Love it and it was on my list for ds but kept thinking of the lyrics to the Foals song of the same name: "Cassius is second best" :(

Cassius is derived from the Latin Cassus m. (feminine cassa, neuter cassum) meaning:
1.hollow, empty, devoid of something
2.lacking
3.useless, fruitless, vain, futile

That would put me off, unfortunately.

I love it! was in our top 3 list for DS due next week, but we have decided to go with another equally fabulous name for our little boy. Will deffo be back on the list if he ever has a little brother!

This was on our short list for some time...DP (an historian) loves it because it references one of the key rebels who murdered Ceasar to remove him from power!

I liked it for other reasons but personally I don't care for the likely nickname Cass for a boy, so off the list it came.

I still think its a great name - strong and interesting. Go for it!
