Really dislike.

But I don't like any Virtue names. Think it's the religious connotations.

YoullScreamAboutItOneDay · 23/11/2012 17:49

I love it. Don't think it needs a nickname.

It's a very mumsnet name! I like it, like the idea of shortening to V.

thegreylady · 23/11/2012 18:03

I absolutely love it.The nicest of the 'virtue' names by miles imho'

ConfusedandBemused · 23/11/2012 18:10

Reminds me of the pcos forum....bu then I have pcos and use it, but I imagine a lot of people may associate it with that. Apart from that its just ok.

Beachcomber · 23/11/2012 18:14

Makes me think of The Crow Road - which isn't a bad thing.

Ash was cooler though really.

Fannychanel · 23/11/2012 18:24

I knew a Verity, lovely person, lovely name.

moggle · 23/11/2012 18:29

I love it, one of my cousins 19yo has this name, she is lovely, hence I love the name :-) My aunt got the idea for the name from a character in Miss Marple apparently!
She is usually just called Verity but occasionally I hear "Ver" pronounced "Vair" or simply "V" / "Vee" but only from her siblings and close friends.

Themumsnot · 23/11/2012 18:33

I love it, reminds me of the Chalet School books.

HappyTurquoise · 23/11/2012 19:31

love it. A friend's dd has that name.

dashoflime · 23/11/2012 19:34

Poncetastic. Upper MC. Dull. Uptight. Just not pretty.

SoulTrain · 23/11/2012 20:01

I have a friend called Verity, she's Veri, V, Vegs...

I like it, it means The Truth in Latin I think.

MoonHare · 24/11/2012 20:18

I love it. I knew a grown up one years ago, she was a great laugh.

BuntyPenfold · 24/11/2012 20:35

I used to really like it, until someone on here said Ferrety. Sorry.

Rhubarbgarden · 24/11/2012 20:43

I just think of Verity Treacle, so I think it's horrible. But I may be alone in that

Teapot13 · 25/11/2012 09:46

I don't have a problem with virtue names, but it isn't a particularly nice-sounding word to my ears.
